Commission and Noakhali Office at a glance

The Anti-Corruption Commission consists of a chairman and two commissioners. The current chairman of the commission is former senior secretary to the government Mr. Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah and the two commissioners are former district judge Mr. Mohammad. Zahurul Haque and former senior secretary to the government. Md. Mozammel Haque Khan. His Excellency the President appoints one of the three Commissioners as Chairman. The Chairman presides over all the meetings of the Commission and in his absence presides over the meeting of any Commissioner nominated by the Chairman. The quorum of the meeting is constituted in the presence of two Commissioners including the Chairman. They were appointed by the President for a term of 5 (five) years on the recommendation of the Selection Committee constituted under Section 6 of the ACC Act, 2004. The Commission Act provides for a guarantee of the tenure of the Commissioners, "No Commissioner shall be removed without the same reasons and manner in which a judge of the Supreme Court may be removed." Also, they will not be eligible for re-employment at the end of the term. The Chairman and Commissioner of the ACC enjoy the same status and privileges as the judges of the Appellate Division and the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court respectively.


There are two districts under the Anti-Corruption Commission, Integrated District Office, Noakhali. These two districts are Noakhali and Feni. Lakshmipur district has been excluded from Noakhali Office and included to Chandpur District Office.
